We are back from hiatus. The three of us didn’t intend to step away for the summer, but life happened, and well, there you go. But we are back and ready to share what we’ve been working on. There’s lots of good news to share from all of us.
Linda spent the summer with family and traveling. Taking care of my great-niece and -nephew (2 ½ and 5 months) was a highlight and joy of the summer. Boy was I worn out. I slept for three days when I came home. I also celebrated my 60th birthday, which feels like a milestone. And here I am at that venerated age working to begin a new career and fulfilling a childhood dream. My second manuscript is finished, and I’m now onto editing and revising.
Karen has a new opportunity in the works. More information will be forthcoming, but she’s hoping it leads to new writing opportunities and to greater visibility for her work. She’s also been busy with family and home, getting ready for some home renovations and sending her youngest off to a new college this fall.
Tana has also embarked on a new writing adventure. She is writing for Bryant Street Shorts, which primarily distributes through Scrbd, a subscription service. Her first book with them, Sailing into the Heart, came out earlier this summer and is available in paperback. Click on the link to go directly to Amazon for purchase. You can also get the paperback from Barnes & Noble. A second one, Slow Dancing in a Black Storm, is on the way. She is also the 2nd place winner of the 2021 On the Far Side Contest.
The three of us attended the Romance Slam Jam Conference virtually at the beginning of August. Lots of learning, lots of fun, and lots to think about. We were able to get together in real life just before Labor Day weekend. We did lots of catching up and lots of professional talk. It was so great to be together again. It was the first time we were together since Yale. We hope to make this an annual gathering.
For me, the summer didn’t have a lot of writing to it. I was taking care of two little ones for almost a month, did some traveling, and spent time with family. I did manage to finish my second novel and began the editing/revising process. I have also begun to consider next steps for getting published and next story ideas. Something is percolating in the back of my brain. We’ll see what happens.
You can look for us back on Facebook more regularly. I’ll have the inspirational/thoughtful quote on Tuesday starting next week. We’re trying to plan some additional posts to keep you engaged. Thanks for being part of this journey we’re on.
